Competition raised £2,065

We have now completed tallying the money and can advise that an astonishing £2,065 was raised from the competition, canteen, raffles and guess the bear's birthday.

A cheque for the full amount has been sent to Action Duchenne.

Thank you

Gareth and I wish to thank the highland dancing community for the overwhelming support for the first of this annual event - dancers came as far a field as Rothesay, Belfast and Peterhead.  The list of thanks is endless from our four judges (Lezley Anderson, Mary Neill, Susan Clark and Ian MacLean) who kindly donated their fee to charity, to the volunteers who also gave their time to support our competition, all those who donated trophies & medals, raffle prizes, primary prizes and canteen donations and of course not forgetting all the competitors who made the day possible.

We extend our gratitude to the following helpers :

Canteen - Anji McAvoy, Anne Low and Janice Hanvidge
Stewards - Claire Hammell, Jean Stirton, Jenny Strachan, Matthew Low, Allison Gentles, Lisa Linton
Top Table - Richard McClumpha, Wilma Tolmie
Raffle - Ann Donlon and Pat Linton
Front Door -  Mr& Mrs Hammell
Convenor - George Mitchelson

Getting organised

The hall is full and we are just about ready to start.

All the trophies are laid out on the stage and look fantastic - hopefully we will manage to get some photos posted later.

En route to the comp

We are all packed up and on our way - I am squashed in the back beside the giant teddy (a bit squashy nut she is keeping me warm!)
